Where are practices held?

Practices are held at local gyms and facilities in San Angelo. Teams typically practice 2–3 times per week, depending on age group and competition schedule. Typically held at Sports Next Level and Wall High School gyms.

What is a “travel team”?

A travel team competes in tournaments outside the San Angelo area, including cities across Texas and occasionally out of state. Travel teams offer a more competitive experience and are ideal for players seeking advanced skill development and college exposure.

What is included in club fees?

Club fees typically include tournament entry fees, coaching, facility rentals, uniforms, and administrative costs. Travel, lodging, and meals for tournaments are not included. Detailed pricing is provided during the tryout and registration process.

Is APV affiliated with any governing body?

Yes. Angelo Premier Volleyball is sanctioned by USA Volleyball (USAV) and competes in USAV-sanctioned events. This affiliation ensures high safety standards, certified coaching, and national-level competition opportunities.

Are coaches background-checked and certified?

Yes. All coaches are background checked and certified through USA Volleyball. They follow all USAV safety protocols and are trained to coach youth athletes in a positive, competitive environment.

Who can try out for Angelo Premier Volleyball?

Girls ages 17–18 who want to improve their volleyball skills and compete in USAV tournaments are welcome to try out. We place athletes on teams based on skill level, age, and position needs.

What should I expect at practice?

Practices are structured, fast-paced, and focused on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy. You’ll be challenged to grow as a player while building confidence and discipline.

Will I get playing time at tournaments?

Playing time is earned based on performance, effort, attendance, and team needs. Our coaches aim to develop all players, but we also strive to be competitive at every event.

Can I play other sports while on an APV team?

Many athletes are multi-sport players. We support that, but we expect volleyball to be a priority during the club season. Communication is key to managing potential schedule conflicts.

Can playing for APV help me get recruited?

What do I need to bring to tryouts?

Please bring athletic shoes, knee pads, water, and a positive attitude! You’ll also need to complete registration forms and pay the tryout fee in advance.

How are players evaluated?

Players are evaluated on serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and overall athleticism. We also consider coachability, hustle, and team fit when making roster decisions.

When will I know if I made a team?

Team selections are typically communicated within a few days after tryouts. You'll receive an offer letter and instructions on how to register and secure your spot.
